Boiling Springs Intermediate School in Spartanburg District 2 used to house two grade levels. Now the school is home to 25 fifth grade classrooms and several unused classrooms.

That is until the Mary Black Foundation Healthy Schools Initiative grantee used some of their funds to kit out several rooms for active indoor recess. Now when the weather is too hot, too cold or too wet to take recess outdoors, BSIS students will get their exercise at one of several fun fitness stations.

What a great way to encourage increase physical activity during the school day!
