Dr. Glenn Weaver Presents Keynote at Spartanburg Healthy Schools Forum

During the 2017 Spartanburg Healthy Schools Forum presented by Partners for Active Living, Dr. Glenn Weaver of the Arnold School of Public Health at USC presented a hopeful message to educators. As shown in this graphic, children in grades K – 5 actually tend to get healthier at school. By far the most weight gain and fitness loss happens during the Summer, shown in yellow on this graph. While more progress for school based wellness is indicated, schools can take pride in the fact that what they are doing for student wellness is working. Dr. Weaver and his colleagues are working to develop Summer programs that maintain and improve student wellness levels. Click here to see the entire presentation.
